A few weeks ago my husband and I adopted a little dog from the shelter. (Well the funny part of the story is that I sort of adopted the dog without asking my husband first.. whoopsie! I called him right after I adopted him and then asked. hehe)
I was at the shelter to just walk around and look at the cats when I stumbled upon kennel #180 which held the little 4 year old “red-listed” creme stray dog. I’m not quite sure how to explain it but I just knew this little dude was meant for us, and I had to adopt him.
It’s been about three weeks since Pixel has been home with us and we are so in love with him, he’s truly amazing. (even my husband loves the little dude.) He was already house trained, has an amazing temperament, and loves being around people. This little guy is only 4 1/2 pounds but is full of so much love. He’s been such a blessing, we adore him and how much he’s brightened up our life. I can’t believe they were going to euthanize him, and breaks my heart that there are so many animals there just sitting and waiting to be saved.
If you or anyone you know is looking for a pet I highly suggest checking out your local shelter or rescue group. We adopted Pixel from the Orange County Animal Care Shelter in Orange. They have hundreds of amazing animals there. You can check out there site here. http://petadoption.ocpetinfo.com/animal2/
Remember, when you rescue a shelter dog your saving TWO lives. Not only are you saving the animal that you adopt but you’re also making more space for a new animal to come in and have the chance to be adopted.
{Here’s a sneak peek of “Mr. Pixel Magoo” aka Pixel. I’m hoping to do a mini photo session of him soon, until then here’s a picture that I snapped before a newborn session.}
